Making A Difference In Lives & Communities

After my mom and I migrated to Canada, she remarried and my relationship with my stepdad was never good....
I desired love from a father so I began to explore relationships with older men who eventually became abusive. I was angry, confused, hurt so I turned to drugs. I was about to drop out of high school when a friend introduced me to Acorn2Oak Youth Centre. My hope was restored. I received, counsel, support and care and today I am a graduate of College in Social Services.
I am trilled to be part of Acorn2oak's volunteer program! Working with a dedicated team, I've already built strong...
connections, fostering unity and shared purpose. The idea that my involvement could inspire others to join this noble cause is motivating, and being a partner for change, supporting marginalized children and families, adds significant purpose to my dedication.
It brings me hope to know that I can get help at A2O Community Services on a weekly basis with food and resources to subsidize...
my government assistance.
