Summer Employment Details

  • Duration: 8 weeks 
  • Full-time: Monday – Friday (37.5 hours/week)

Social Media Community Manager

Job Description

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with management and assigned staff to create and manage all social media activities for A2O social media accounts including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube. Collaborate with A2O team members on content creation. With supervision of the business development specialist and community development coordinator, assist with editorial and video editing of content for posting to A2O website and SM accounts. Assist with regular updating of A2O website. Assist with Technological challenges experienced by students and staff. Set up and provide administration support for zoom and other online meetings. Assist with creating and presenting social media and training to staff, youth and seniors. This incumbent will also engage regularly in Graphic design, web design and video editing.

Skills required: 

  • Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools 
  • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats, and HTML 
  • Excellent social listening skills 
  • Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space 
  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills 
  • Top-notch oral and written communication skills 
  • Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask 
  • Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Community Development Coordinator

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Finding and applying to grants • Locating sponsorship • Forming and maintaining relationships with companies that align with our values and believe in our cause • Knowledge and understanding of the community and social issues • Locating and creating resources to inform and educate the community on how to tackle the problems that affect people at all stages of life • Creating opportunities for people to help one another and grow together • Evaluating existing program • Fundraising • Attending meetings. Complete weekly self-evaluation reports. Any other duties within the organization as requested from time to time.

Assistant, Social Services

Job Description

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Assist A2O staff in planning, organizing and implementing programs that will help clients to find access to available services in their area • Complete client intake • Assist with research to create e-newsletters and flyers for community development and awareness • Evaluate existing programs in A2O, identify and highlight new opportunities to enhance these programs • Provide detailed, comprehensive reports as requested by Supervisor • Appropriately refer clients to external resources or within A2O as part of our holistic approach • Be able to advocate for and help clients get community-based resources that would improve their well-being • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions where applicable and established networks that are valuable and relevant to the company • Research Community Resources and provide client advocacy in a professional manner • Complete weekly self-evaluation reports. Any other duties within the organization as requested from time to time.
